It was a different story with Aoui and Oliver from the very beginning. They were not just any client we met for the first time. They were more like family since Oliver is the brother of Jeo’s sister-in-law. (Jeo is the co-owner of Empire Weddings). It’s a long connection, but still, they are family. We wanted everything to be perfect for them like any family member would want.

Aoui and Oliver wanted their wedding to be simple, elegant and to be a joyous celebration that their guests would enjoy. And indeed, that is what they got! It was not an easy ride for the couple since they both felt that they crammed things. But let us tell you, if cramming can produce a wedding like theirs, then we should all just cram. It’s like getting an A for a test you just studied an hour before.

Add up all the factors and you’ll see why they scored an A. From their perfectly-detailed invitation box, to the elaborate and grand wedding gown, the beautiful fresh flowers, the heartfelt emotions captured in photos and videos, the sumptuous buffet served and the enjoyable rhythm and music. It was simply a day of blissful celebration.

To Aoui and Oliver, you have begun the wonderful journey of marriage, and soon, you will be starting your own beautiful family. There will be troubles ahead, but more joys, happiness and excitement are in store for you. We know that whatever God will give you, the both of you will embrace it whole-heartedly. Cheers to a wonderful beginning and a more colourful life together.

Ryan and Kakay de Castro

September 1, 2011

Bridal Gown // Kacci Santos
Ceremony // Santuario de San Antonio
Reception // North Forbes Pavilion
Photographer and Videographer// POD Productions
Caterer // Albergus

Kakay texted me and asked if I can coordinate her wedding. You see, Kakay was a friend from high school so it should have been an easy yes. Then she told me that her wedding was on the first day of September, I glitched and just thought, this is a first and this is a blessing. She was getting married on my birthday.

I never saw Kakay after our graduation since we went our separate ways, but seeing her again during our first meeting felt like we were back in high school. She was as pretty as I remembered. And during her wedding day, she was as lovely as you could wish for a bride. I’m sure Ryan felt the same way.

To Ryan and Kakay, and to the whole family, thank you for always welcoming us with dinner and Contis' cake everytime we meet in your home. You have a great big family and we were lucky to have been part of such a wonderful occasion. I am sure the both of you are so excited to start your wonderful journey ahead, and with little baba on the way, everything will just be as crazy and fun.

All our best,

Empire Weddings

JV and Kristine Velez

August 27, 2011
Ceremony // St. James the Great Parish
Reception // Palm’s Country Club
Photographer // Ian Santillan
Videographer // Halo Media

It was time to leave at 4:45 am, the rain was pouring hard and I can hear the swoosh of the wind as I drove out of our garage. When I reached the bride’s home at 5:30 am, the lights were all on and a lot of people were already moving around. It was, after all, the big day of the youngest of five siblings and the last one to get married. As the sister of the bride said-- “Sarado na ang tindahan ng mga Icasas.”

At the other side of Alabang, the groom woke up early and rarely got enough sleep. He and his family were being photographed at 4:30 am, while the rest of the country was still sleeping. It was hard to convince the groom to wake up that early, but he did-- for his soon to be wife.

To dear JV and Kristine, we would like to thank you for simply letting us be a part of your simple, beautiful, heartfelt, morning wedding. Witnessing the roundabouts of Kristine’s family the whole morning and the smiles and laughter of JV’s family throughout the day, we just knew where you both got your simple, happy and loving disposition.

It was a great experience getting to know you both. You are such an inspiration to us. To Kristine, who inspired me to roll pieces of paper, I know you will be a great wife and mother! Good luck on your cooking! And to JV, who travels all the way from San Juan to Alabang, I’m sure you’ll be a wonderful partner and head of the family.

We know that with the guidance of your loving families, supportive friends and with God by your side, you will have a rock-solid marriage and a wonderful family of your own.

May God bless you both! Keep on making each other laugh.

All our best,

Empire Weddings

The weather forecast for the day: Cloudy and Rainy. And indeed, there was an outpour not only of rain, but of laughter, tears and love.

Knowing that the couple lived in the US, we found it touching that they would want to go back here to celebrate their special day. It amazed us to know that people would literally go the extra thousand miles just to be married in their native land. Planning was done through a series of unending emails and skype meetings. Thank God for technology! We were just blessed that our couple and their families were really into making their wedding a dream come true, even if they were half-way across the world.

To Tita Cora, the bride’s aunt here in the Philippines whom we relied on for innumerable details, thank you for welcoming us into your home. You have been very warm and kind to us from day one, making sure we were well fed for our meetings that lasted for hours. Thank you.

Tyrone and Angela, it was our pleasure to be part of your wedding. It was great getting to know you and your wonderful families. Thank you for your patience in answering our long and unending emails and for skype-ing with us even if it was late at night your time. We wish you countless years of happiness, success and good health!

All our best,

Empire Weddings

Teddy and Lydia Guasa

July 4, 2011
Ceremony// St. Jerome Emiliani Parish
Reception// Palm’s Country Club
Photographer// Chapter One Studios
Videographer// Love in Motion

From the moment we first met our client, we knew that it was not going to be like any other wedding we have done. For one, we were meeting a “representative” of the couple as compared to the usual bride and groom. Second, we just met a mere two weeks before the wedding. Third, well, our couple has already been married for 50 years. Yes, FIFTY. And that made all the difference.

Come to think of it, what can happen in fifty years? That’s 50 sets of birthdays, Holy Weeks, Christmases, Valentine’s days and anniversaries. Perhaps few occasions of baptisms, first communions, family trips, weddings, death and even national elections. That’s worth 50 years of memories, of triumphs and failures, of a family growing bigger, of friends that come and go.

So the biggest question in mind was - How do you celebrate a golden wedding anniversary? The Guasa family knew just how to do it - and it was perfect.

It was a celebration of love. From the sweet kisses and gestures at the bridal suite, to the beautiful vows at the Church and loving messages at the reception- everything just seems to come by like a confetti of hearts and shimmers of love. One would immediately know that this couple had been through the best and worst of life, and their love and respect for each other have solidified like a rock.

It was a celebration of life. It did not matter if the guest list increased by a mile, just as long as the people that they cared about were there. Relatives and friends flew from the provinces to be with Teddy and Lydia. They were blessed to have five loving children and seven talented and just as beautiful grandchildren. These are the things that mattered the most to the couple. It was just a big bonus that the whole family was talented. The groom sang as “Ikaw” as his bride walked down the aisle. The siblings, children and grandchildren also took centre stage without any hesitation. And it was indeed one spectacular show- We were lucky we did not even have to pay for it.

To Ms. Marley, it was great getting to know you and listening to your stories. For us, you were more like a mother rather than a client- even if it was only two weeks of being part of each other’s lives. Thank you for welcoming and embracing us as though we are part of the big family. You will forever be imprinted in our lives.

To our golden couple, it was a pleasure being part of a momentous occasion like this. We were inspired by your love, strength, passion and dedication. You have a very beautiful and loving family. We only wish that you will be given more years together and that each day will be blessed with more memories of happiness and love.

All our best,

Ceremony and Reception// Discovery Shores Boracay
Photographer// Mango Red
Videographer// Tree House Story
Make-up (Bride)// Make-up Studio
Gown// Rajo Laurel

A lot of factors play when you are planning for a beach wedding-- flights, manpower, hotel bookings, tides, direction of the wind, weather and… well, the weather.

Stephen and Malou have been really blessed to have the perfect weather to experience the ceremony, reception, fireworks and sky lantern that they wanted. But more than that, we were glad to see that they got what they really desired for their wedding day, and that is to be surrounded by the people that they love.

Yes, the magic of the paradise might have helped, but it was this couple’s love, happiness and kindness that made everything simply magical.

To Stephen and Malou, we would like to thank you for giving us the opportunity to have our first wedding in the exquisite island of Boracay and for entrusting us this one magical day in your lives. We pray and wish that God will continue to bless you both with lots of years together and lots of beautiful children.

All our best,

Ceremony// Sta. Monica Parish Church, Puerto Princesa
Reception// Hotel Centro

Cheers to the couple who made us believe that love really goes the distance! With the groom away and the bride planning away, it was still a collaboration and celebration of love and oneness to the last detail.

We were privileged to have been part of their beautiful and simple yet elegant Puerto Princesa wedding. It was a celebration of love and friendship; and of families who became one through Gino and Anne. Even though it was a year delayed, we know it was worth the wait.

To dear Gino and Anne, whose love for each other cannot be deterred by time nor distance, we wish you countless years of togetherness full of love and happiness.

All our best,

Empire Weddings

JP and Baby Rius

April 9, 2011
Ceremony// St. James the Great Parish
Reception// The Bellevue Manila
Photo & Video// Red Sheep Photography
Makeup// Charm Tan

The story of their friendship began in De La Salle University - Dasmarinas, and their love blossomed in New York. After five years of waiting, a promise ring, a dream engagement ring, and tedious planning thousands of miles away from home - finally, JP and Baby tied the knot in the company of their loving family and friends.

When I first met JP and Baby 11 days before their wedding, it felt as if we already knew each other for a long time. It was not just because we had exchanged A LOT of emails, but also because of their sheer kindness and warmth.

To our first couple who welcomed us into their home and into their lives, we wish you a blissful married and family life. Looking at how much you take care of each other, and with the guidance, love and support of your family and friends, we are sure it will be a wonderful journey ahead.

All my best,

Agnes
